Is Your Data Really Safe?

Eliminate tape from your disaster recovery strategy once and for all!

 High-Rely Backup Solutions Offers:

7 Bay Rack Mount 5 Bay Mini-tower or 1 Bay Desktop Styles
  • Use 500GB HR media to get an impressive 3.5 Terabytes total storage (uncompressed) in the 7 bay Rack-Mount model!
  • Each HR Media tray is built to last and features a built-in fan, an LCD temperature display, and an audible temperature alarm.
  • HR Drives are supported by most operating systems and connect to the host system via a single USB 2.0 “B” connector.
  • Media Capacities range from 80GB to 500GB and up per removable HR drive.

Standard IDE Format
Imagine being able to remove your backup media from the tray, plug it into a standard IDE controller and not only being able to read the data, but being able to boot from it!  No more hassle with tape head
al1ignment and proprietary tape formats.

Speed
Our customers report real world backup speeds of 70GB per hour and more with our system.  That outperforms DAT, VXA-2, AIT, DLT and just about any other tape system out there.

Test Your Network Backup!
How many times have you been told to do a “test restore” of your server to confirm your backup?  But how can you do that without endangering the production server?  With High-Rely drives, verifying backups is easier than ever.  Use Standard OS utilities like Explorer to view files.  Even use drive image software like Symantec V2I protector or Ghost to “clone” drives to your High-Rely
media.  Test a “bare metal” recovery by connecting to an IDE controller and literally booting from your backup!

Media Cost
Traditional thinking has been that nothing is cheaper than tape in dollars per Gigabyte stored.  But higher prices on new proprietary tape formats like AIT-3 and VXA-2, along with lower prices on IDE hard drives have changed that dynamic.  When you consider that most tapes last 1 year when used weekly and hard drives last 3 (plus) years, HR media actually costs less per Gigabyte per year than tape.

Add the labor cost and frustration of waiting for unreliable, slow tape and HR removable hard drives are by far your least expensive backup strategy.

Drive Counts
Models available with drive stacks from one to 8 drives. Custom models are also available.

Media Compatibility
Removable Drive Trays accept any 3.5” wide IDE drive with standard 1” or 1.6” high form factor IDE Drive.  Support for any ATA through ATAPI-6 drive, including 48 bit addressing for 400GB and larger IDE drives.

Interface & Data Rate
Single USB 2.0 USB cabling (external) Male-A to Male-B cable (included).  480Mbps (60MBps) raw
data rate on USB-2.0. 12Mbps (1.5MBps) on USB-1.1

Operating System Support
Natively supported by Windows XP, 2000, and 2003 with latest Service packs. Drivers included for Windows 98. Most Unix, Linux, Mac, Novell and other operating systems with native support for USB 2.0 will work.

Performance
Exceeds most tape systems.  Example real world data transfer of MP3 files (non-compressed) using Novaback 7.1 achieved 70Gigabytes per hour.  Generic Windows Explorer copy achieved 63Gigabytes
per hour.  Actual performance will depend on files backed up, host machine, software used and many other variables.  See High-Rely.com web site for speed comparisons to common tape systems.

Software
Utility software included to handle dynamically assigning and mapping drive letters in Windows XP, 2K, 2K3.
Some bundles may include backup software and 98 drivers.

Compression
HR drives
work with either operating system (NTFS) or backup software to achieve up to 2-to-1 data compression.

LCD Display
Each removable drive has LCD display & Audible Fan Failure Alarm. Stopping fan for any reason
results in instant audible alarm. LCD display indicates:  When drive is in use, Total HD usage (in days/hours), Drive Housing Temperature, Fan Spinning indicator,
Power alarm.

Warranty
High-Rely drives and media come with a 12 to 18 month limited warranty (depending on the unit) that will repair or replace any component within 7 working days (typical).  Warranty upgrades for 1 day turn around available at slight additional cost.
